SIA Approved Contractor Scheme ACS

Established by the Security Industry Authority SIA, the Approved Contractor Scheme ACS is a voluntary scheme aimed to assist and raise performance standards in the UK security industry.

The Approved Contractors’ scheme will demonstrate to customers and suppliers that your business is running professionally. It demonstrates that you continually strive to improve business processes and that you monitor and control service standards. Many security companies are unsuccessful in being awarded contracts with Councils, Local Government, large corporate and construction companies due to not holding ACS Approval.

Customers can easily distinguish between properly run companies by selecting an Approved Contractor and will often use this accreditation to define who they should use for their security requirements. Being an approved contractor will give confidence to your customers that you provide a professional security service and will look after its customers and staff.

Our proposal will include:

  • Attend site and ascertain business and support procedures
  • Produce draft ACS system, tailored to your business and branded with your logos and information
  • Return to site and review the draft system with appropriate management team
  • Make any amendments to the system
  • Return to site and run through each procedure with the relevant member of staff and the associated documents/forms
  • Agree timescales for relevant staff to commence immediate use of the documentation and complete any required documentation such as supplier lists, management action lists, etc.
  • Undertake pre-assessment of the system to ensure all elements are covered and all are prepared for assessment
  • 1st day assessment attendance
  • 12 months telephone support after assessment.
